Back to School…Already!
August has been such a busy month for me! August 11th was my birthday – I celebrated with a picnic with my friends at our local concert in the park. I’ve been enjoying our summer art festivals, which Laguna Beach is known for - the Sawdust Festival, the Festival of Arts and the Pageant of the Masters. My daughter was home from college, so I spent lots of time catching up with her in between her time working, interning and hanging out with friends. My husband and I recently returned from dropping her off for her junior year, which is bitter sweet. I can’t believe how fast the summer has flown by and that kids are already going back to school!

Before heading back down south, I was able to squeeze in a hosted stay at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco – even more elegant than I remembered. They are currently offering al fresco dining at Solaire Terrasse with Veuve Clicquot, where guests can enjoy champagne, caviar, a seafood tower, gelato and more, on the sunny patio with city views - even our dog Charlie got some “champagne” (thank you, Mishka).
Where I’ve Been:
The Resort at Pelican Hill, Newport Beach
A few weeks ago, I was invited to experience The Resort at Pelican Hill, which is just a few miles north of Laguna Beach. This five-star resort is situated on a sprawling 504 acres, which includes 36 holes of championship golf, a world-class spa, a spectacular circular pool – 136 feet in diameter, fine Italian dining, and expansive accommodations in villas and bungalows. It’s the perfect place to wrap up summer, with their “La Dolce Vida” experiences. You can read my full review about this luxurious resort in beautiful, coastal Orange County, California…or book* a room to experience it yourself!

Holland America: 7-Day Canada & New England Discovery Cruise

In a couple weeks, I’m leaving for a press trip on Holland America departing from Boston and ending in Quebec. I’m really looking forward to experiencing a Holland America cruise and visiting port cities that will be new to me. I’ve always wanted to see the charming town of Halifax and the French-inspired Quebec. Experiences range from hiking Acadia National Park or seeing scenic lighthouses in Nova Scotia to visiting the stunning beaches on Prince Edward Island or strolling through UNESCO historic sites in Quebec. The mid-size ship also has nightly entertainment, fine dining and spa treatments. Sound like fun? Book* a cruise on Holland America now and get a $50 on board credit. They are also offering 60% off amenities and free upgrades on certain cruises, if booked by Sept. 30.
