To those of you who have been subscribers to my newsletter…you know me and will know what to expect from this newsletter. I’ve just switched over to using Substack, rather than Mailchimp, for its robustness, ease of use and collaboration opportunities.
For those of you who are new subscribers, let me introduce myself. I’m an internationally published travel writer with more than 20 years of experience. I am always looking for resources for articles I'm working on. If you represent a DMO, tour operator, hotel, cruise line, or gear supplier, this is where you’ll find what content I'm in need of for articles I’m working on. I also list my recently published articles, so you can see what I type of content I publish, in order to craft relevant pitches to me
This is Me
Here’s a photo that was taken today of me with my husband Jeff and our dog Charlie, in our hometown of Laguna Beach, California. We stumbled upon this setting for a wedding proposal that was going to take place at sunset.
Creating a Travel Community
One of the things I love most about being a travel writer is the people I meet - public relations representatives, destination managers, tour operators, other travel writers. It so much fun getting to know you during our adventures together while on press trips, at trade conferences, or even via Zoom. Some of you, I have known for years and I love keeping in touch. Some, I have only known a short while, but I will never forget (like my angel, Sabrina Robson!). Others, I look forward to meeting. But one thing we all have in common is our love for exploring this beautiful planet that we call home.
Posting Schedule
I plan on posting this newsletter once a month, hopefully on the 1st of the month, so you can expect to see it in your in box around that time. However, I will also use this platform to reach out if I have an urgent need for content. Due to what I feel could be a conflict of interest, this will be a FREE newsletter – there will be no paid subscription option, nor will I ask you to buy me a latte. ; )
My Work
My articles have appeared in U.S. News & World Report, Fodor's, Lonely Planet, Forbes, Thrillist, Mercury News, Matador Network, Sunset magazine, Outside magazine and more. You can see some of my clips at Sharael.com.
